Alvin Gittisriboongul, Chief Counsel, Legal Office
Before his appointment as Chief Counsel for the State Personnel Board, Mr. Gittisriboongul served as the Presiding Administrative Law Judge for the Board. In that capacity, he oversaw the Evidentiary Unit’s operation for the Board’s Appeals Division, which included supervising Administrative Law Judges and a team of talented support staff in the adjudication of appeals from disciplinary and other disputed matters before the Board. Leading up to his time as the Presiding Administrative Law Judge, Mr. Gittisriboongul was a litigator with varied public and private sector experience. As a public sector attorney, he served as a Supervising Deputy Attorney General with California Attorney General’s Office defending the state against constitutional-based claims. In the private sector, Mr. Gittisriboongul principally practiced in the civil defense arena representing clients against lawsuits involving employment disputes, general tort liability claims, professional liability and products liability.
Mr. Gittisriboongul obtained his Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of California, Irvine and his Juris Doctor degree from McGeorge School of Law.
